The CWA Awards passed off well, and I settled down to finishing my novel. It's now with my agent... I am looking forward to the BA Festival of Science, which will take place in and around Liverpool from 6-11 September. With dozens of lectures, hands-on and family events, there is something for everyone. I'm honoured to be one of the star speakers, alongside luminaries such as Professors Robert Winston and Adam Hart Davies. The event I'm involved in - Murder, Mysteries and Microscopes - will run twice on 9 September, at 1.30 in Lecture Theatre A, ULRB, University of Liverpool, and again at 6 p.m. The Bluecoat, School Lane. Admission is free, but booking is essential. Val McDermid and Peter James will also take part - with the fun idea of reading from our work and then having forensic specialists explain the science behind the readings. Hope to see you there!
